I dont get it. I wanted to practice with old kanjis so I don't forget them but it kept throwing me new kanjis!! The settings, level 1, and level 2 is white highlighted- I do not know what that means but they kept showing me brand new kanjis -___-;;
the highlighted blue options are currently in circulation, meaning those are the only levels they will show in practice. So if you want level 1 and 2 kanji to appear only, set those to blue and the rest of the levels to white. Hope this helps!
I did think about that.I wouldn't have the time to pass the jlpt though... Unless I spent 2-3 years doing nothing here. Not to mention it would be very expensive.
There are programs in English and Scholarships. I am far from fluent in Japanese. I am going to Osaka University from this fall. Check out your eligability for MEXT Scholarships at the Japanese Embassy of your country for more information and you can probably find other scholarships as well as going for an exchange year to Japan from your University
When you have a large combo, getting a lot of score isn't that hard. I used to just answer while watching TV or anime, you don't really notice your score going up.
what is bothering me is that vocabulary does not mix up. its not learning. they should do each series a major review questions so you do not just level up and forget. score not important.
well when you use practice you can adjust the settings to pick vocabulary and Kanji from all previous levels into your practice. But perhaps that's not what you meant
@Aniumixie: Life is good, can't really complain other than the fact that summers are too humid and winters are too cold for me. The people I've met have been really friendly. My Japanese is terrible despite being here for a few years, so that's why I'm checking this site out.
No need to have a lot of money to have fun in Japan, in my opinion you can go to a lot of bars that offer 飲み放題 and 食べ放題 at alright rates. Groceries tend to be expensive however eating out is cheaper at least compared to my country. If you plan on living in Japan your rent will be your biggest expense in my experience especially in the bigger cities, Tokyo rents are quite crazy then it's cheaper to live in the suburbs such as Saitama. I lived one year in 文京区 which is a great place to live however it tends to be expensive if you are not living in a University Dormitory as I did.
Bear in mind. If you live in US, Our dollar value is really bad. If you work in Japan, you'll realize the prices are okay. Tokyo was listed as number one most expensive city compared to others IN DOLLAR but there are no poor people in Japan... Our dollar value is damaged and everytime we rise it, they rise it too. For them it's normal to buy a 60 dollars DVD's. But there's books for beginners to live in Tokyo comfortably in their budget. *゚▽゚*
I make enough to have fun every now and then and save money. Sure, it's expensive if you start playing with exchange rates. The prices don't even faze me anymore.
And poor and homeless people do exist in Japan you can see them building their boxforts. Even the homeless people in Japan work though with what small tasks they can find, truly industrious IMO
SloanAkira: depends on the job. If you have a specific skill set (Engineering, IT, etc) and your Japanese is at least at the N2 level, you might be able to fare pretty well. If you plan on teaching English, that's a little bit easier to get your foot in the door and hopefully branch out to other things.
don't they get enough english teachers? hahaha it seems like the only reason everyone use to live in japan. I however, would like to connect with deaf people there as I know sign language, japanese would definitely help me to communicate with them if needed
I saw two types they used via video blogs. but third is unofficial. they used american sign language and japanese sign language, third is international but hasnt been widely established. do you which they use often? I know english standard, american and very little jsl.
