Welcome Amy(?)! Sure, the vocabs do help a lot when you do supplementary learning outside of this site (i.e., when reading Japanese texts), because you'll end up recognizing a lot of words and that saves a lot of time from having to look them up individually. XD
Ideally, it's still recommended to learn Japanese through other means alongside with this site. :D
Thanks miharusshi, I'm also using other means to learn Japanese including four different phone apps, a kanji game, three different textbooks, a dictornary, and three ficton books written in Japanese. I'm also reading and translating online Japense news articles to help improve my skills.
The only thing I'm missing is finding a good place to practice speaking Japanese. I have tonnes of resources for reading and writing in Japanese but I have almost none for actually speaking it.
On that note, does anyone have any good online resouces I could use for practing speaking Japanese?- Wow. That's actually a nice set of resources! Keep it up! (I also have to keep up myself orz)
As for speaking practice, I haven't tried it myself but there's this app called HelloTalk. From its description, I think it's good to use! Also, you can try talking to Japanese twitters because they're really friendly. xD
