Well I'm not really sure if I have any precise method whatsoever... I just manage to answer questions very carefully and spend a lot of time on each chapter...
However I think it can be very helpful to grasp the deep meaning of kanji through a lot of examples...
I've come to find out that the deeper your understanding of a kanji's concept is, the easier it becomes to remember it. That's what I focus on when learning a kanji since the strokes order is quite logic once you've learned about 50 kanjis...
Tha's why I'm using an online kanji dictionary (it's french though) which displays a long list of combinations examples for each kanji.
Another tip is to constantly review the kanjis you've already mastered to make sure you remember both it's "KUN" and "ON" readings...
I have a list for that, I printed it and take it everywhere I go to review them whenever I have the occasion... It's become a passion for me somehow...
Well I hope those advices helps you but I do think that the best method to learn kanjis is the method one has created himself... Remember that ;)
