Actually it's rather playing that made me look for a tennis anime to watch... And TOS happened to be the best one out there...
I have 1 brother and 2 sisters and we were all interested in the tennis world tour for years but we didn't even imagine putting ourselves to tennis as a sport because it's a very non-common sport in our country... but one day an uncle of ours sent us racquets from France and that's how we started playing...
As for my japanese liking, it's a direct result of my watching different animes...
How about you, why do you want to learn some japanese?
