are you a complete beginer or do you know some japanese? If you are a beginer you should learn the hiragana and katakana first they are basically two alphabets representing the same sounds. hiragana for native japanese words and for writing how to pronounce kanji and katakana is for foreign words but may also be used to make things stand out sort of like how you may write a title in capital letters.

- you may have found it already but if you go to the lessons tab there are charts showing the kana and audio of their pronounciation.
