You flatter me! I'm afraid it's not what it seems...
My interest began at 11 after hearing 深い森 by Do As Infinity as the ending theme to 犬夜叉. I thought it was so beautiful--the music, the art, the language--and from there my infatuation with Japan developed, so I sought to learn the language. At such an age, however, I hardly knew how to approach the task, and then, surely enough, puberty and teenage drama threw my focus off and on. :P
But my passion always remained and I've really never been as dedicated as I am now (I aspire to work in Japan and contribute to the country however I can). Yet, I believe I'm still very much a beginner. You might say my scores on this site say more about my appreciation for the format than my actual degree of fluency. Anyhow, I can definitely say I'm reaping benefits practicing here everyday. I utilize lots of other resources as well.
Sorry if I've disappointed you! And sorry my response is verbose; I'm up late. haha :) What about you? What sparked you to take up the language?
