- I used this site primarily and then I use an app on my phone called Tango master and it uses a SRS system and I practiced both hiragana and katakana on that. Just lots of practice and exposure until it becomes natural is the best tip I can give.April 28, 2014 at 3:38am
- As far as a time frame I would say about 1-2 weeks of consistent studying from scratch.April 28, 2014 at 4:05am
- Took me about 24 hours total study time with flash cards.April 28, 2014 at 6:52am

- I used a website called "realkana" I think (there should be an app too). It's useful because it will endlessly cycle through the hiragana or katakana you've selected to practice, offering the answer if u get stuck when you roll over the character with your cursor. It took me about two and a half hours total of merciless drilling to learn both character systems.April 29, 2014 at 12:37pm
- you can also use this site to practice your Hiragana & Katakana http://www.csus.edu/indiv/s/sheaa/projects/genki/hiragana-timer.html i mastered them by going to this site at least once a day.April 29, 2014 at 11:13pm
- Was able to master it in less than 24 hours study time by only using realkana for flash cardsApril 30, 2014 at 12:39am
