Any tips on remembering complicated 'looking' kanji like 時 (time) ?

- 時 is not complicated at all... it's actually one of the most basic kanji. you will encounter a lot more complicated kanji.
So as for the remembering tip: try to write時 about 20-50 times with the right stroke orders. I think you will remember it. :)August 22, 2014 at 4:24pm - Break it up into different parts, jisho is good for seeing what particles it has http://jisho.org/kanji/details/時
For example this one is made up of 'measurement', 'earth' and 'day'. So make a story from it.
