If you've never studied Japanese before you can practice kana(hiragana and katakana) by clicking "lessons" tab on the left, and then "hiragana and katakana" up the top right of that page.
Otherwise if you want to study vocab and kanji click the "practice" tab on the left.
I took the test on it and all but I just don't understand it like there are no directions or instructions kinda confusing
Well, Since I just started too, I'd suggest trying to memorize Hiragana and Katakana before you do Vocabulary 1 and Kanji 1, Practice.
