Is anybody able to help me figure out how to Make my laptop actually show me the kanji? It just shows it all as a sqaure!!! Please help!

download the japanese keyboard
Depending on what your laptops OS is there are different ways to do it. For windows 7 you can change system locale. This will help with displaying kanji. If you want to type Japanese then you will also need keyboard input.
Changing locale:

Adding keyboard(Note this is MS IME keyboard, if you want something else you can also download a 3rd party program):
Control Panel -> region and language -> Keyboards and languages -> Change keyboards -> Add -> Japanese
