You first need to establish your level. Do you know Hiragana and Katakana? If not, you will need to learn those immediately. If you do know them, the site will direct you to begin Lesson One as a beginner who knows Hiragana and Katakana. That being the case, simply click on Lesson 1; memorize the vocabulary; take the Lesson 1 quiz. You can learn Kanji simultaneously (again, assuming you have a working knowledge of Hiragana and Katakana) by clicking on Kanji 1, memorizing the Kanji, then taking the Kanji 1 quiz. If you feel confident, you can do the Practice exercises as you go along. I really like this learning site. I hope you will to. Ganbarimasu!
