- Get an idea of kanji and learn some of the basics. It is important to follow the stroke order to remember them, and listening + speaking is very important. If you're a beginner, start with hiragana first (important), then katakana.January 31, 2015 at 8:37am
- While you're at it, you need to learn as many vocabulary as you can and learn the word structure.January 31, 2015 at 8:37am
- I don't see many people talking about it here, but the best method for me is Remembering the Kanji + kanji.koohii.com (a website designed for those who are studying with the book). It will only teach you the meaning of the kanji, and not readings/compounds, but after you learn the meanings, it gets a lot easier to learn the rest (and you will probably never forget them, because of the method Heisig uses).January 31, 2015 at 9:27am
- i don' remember kanji just words with them in it and if the word is one kanji ill still learn it. i do this because if you see a new word with kanji you still would not be able to deduce the pronunciation because kanji has multiple kun and on readingsJanuary 31, 2015 at 10:17am
