I'm an absolute beginner with the Japanese language so I do have questions that if anyone can answer. I've heard of stroke order in kanji but does stroke order matter in hiragana and katakana

    Yes, it does matter in the kana because it helps make character look right.

    Il faut étudier les kanas (hiraganas et katakana) en premier, les kanji sont souvent transcrit en kana pour pouvoir les lire. L'ordre des kanji n'est pas très important mais c'est mieux d'apprendre les plus courants comme ceux qu'on trouve dans les noms des jours, les chiffres etc,..

    Stroke order does matter, in the form of what the user said before. However, you can definatly get away with the wrong order. It does make the character look more like the character though, and that's what makes notebook scribbles harder to read.
