I tried the JLPT sample questions on - Feed Post by kekkou

I tried the JLPT sample questions on http://www.jlpt.jp/e/samples/forlearners.html and passed the N5, N4 and N3 tests, but failed miserably on the N2 test. I know. I'm beyond all hope.

Same here, just means I'll be taking the N3 this year. Could pass the N2 and possibly the N1 if grammar didn't make an appearance. So easy to study vocab/kanji as opposed to grammar. Gotta find a good place to properly work on that.

What did you have problems with exactly, Kekkou? I thankfully passed N2 two years ago. I plan on taking N1 in July. We'll see how that goes.

@Arachkid and @Koukyoshi Sorry. I forgot to clarify that I passed the SAMPLE tests fir N5, N4 abd N3 on the WEBSITE above. I did not take the actual N5 - N2 tests.

"fir" should be "for", and "abd" should be "and". Dumb iPod on-screen keyboard. :(

The SAMPLE N2 test on the WEBSITE had questions with Kanji that I never saw before, and an audio section that was too complex. I never read the N5 - N2 JLPT books and decided to just "wing it" on the SAMPLE tests.

Oh, I knew you were talking about the sample questions. Even then, unless you got everything wrong, it may still be possible to pass N2 if you were to actually take it. Unlike the previous JLPT, the new version is graded on a curve. How you get questions wrong is also factored. Also, for some reason you only need a 90/180 to pass N2, which is quite doable, I think.
