sooo I am new here and I have a question. Would it be wise to study Japanese as a major or a minor even though I will be majoring in Nursing. Any opinions?

Just go with whatever you can handle, personally I just learn Japanese on my own since I like to keep my own pace but I would imagine that the structure of a class would help keep my grammar in check.

Far be it for me to tell you what you should do, but majoring in Japanese in and of itself isn't very useful. My major was Japanese, and it hasn't really worked out for me. Of course, because it hasn't worked out for me, doesn't mean it won't for you; but I wish I had a more practical major (CS, Economics, etc). To be honest, you don't learn Japanese in a classroom environment; you truly learn it by applying what you learn in real-life situations. At any rate, good luck!
