It's up to you, and you could certainly just run through them both at the same time.
Based on TaeKim's video as you learn Vocabulary atleaqst include Kanji in learning words.hope it helps ^ _ ^
Yeah, that's true. It's better to learn Kanji through vocabulary. So do it together! :D

do you know ひらがな and カタカナ yet? Those should be learned first. punipunijapan.com has workbooks for tracing. click on the beginners tab.- Yep, I just didn't know what to do after learning Hiragana and Katakana
Learning them both side by side is best. There are words that you will learn through grammar, and words that you learn through Kanji, and sometimes they are the same. I find that it helps with learning Kanji if you already know the word though.
