I'm very new to this site ... where do I even start? Straight onto lessons?

do you know your kana? if not go to lessons then on the right hand side there is hiragana katakana practice. practice recognition using the site and also learn to write them.
if your happy with kana the jump into lessons I started out by doing lesson one kanji followed by lesson one vocab ten lessson 2 kanji and vocab and so on.
dont do to much in one session it will just tire your brain and you wont retain much.
then also do your 20 practice questions for attendance ^-^

Hi, i've had a look at your profile you seem very new to japanese, id say try hiragana and katakana first they're the building blocks of everything else.
