  Depends on what do you want to say exactly. If "I am singing a song" (right now) then 私は歌を歌っています。is going to be better.

  If you're writing in formal Japanese, you must have particles where they are needed. If you're writing casually, what you wrote is fine if the meaning is something alone the lines of you're going to sing.
