My brain is so fried right now. I've been putting in at least two hours a day for studying and I'm wanting to slam my head against a wall. All this studying and then when I get back to Tokyo I'm just going to panic and default to わかりません。。。>_> 頭が痛いな。。。

Oi, take some advice from me.

Sunday's are my lazy day. I really just glance at my textbook, maybe review some kanji and that's it. If I was you, I would take have a day off once a week.

I also study that amount of time, usually three hours though.

Do not by study that much, nothing, be it japanese or any other subject (for example university studies).
Our, as humans, concentration span is much shorter than that and if you study for several hours without a break you are wasting your time. Take a short 5 minutes break every half an hour, drink, eat, close your eyes, meditate, listen to music, stretch or anything else doesn't matter what. If necessary every hour and a half take a longer break of about 15~30 minutes. This will ensure you are focused and fresh, it is easier and by all means better and smarter a study method.

Breaks are so important for you while studying long term. I have been learning Japanese for just over two years and have found that at least one day of rest (weekly) makes a huge improvement once you start up again. I tend to remember a lot more vocabulary where I stick to this routine.

I know its tough to stop. You want to gain as much knowledge as possible! It's really refreshing to take a break and hit it hard so please try it out.

I can focus completely for 12 hours straight sometimes and retain the information, but yes, breaks are needed. I take a few days off occasionally.

Vary your studying, too. Using apps, textbooks, and using media to work on your studying means you're still studying while not doing the same old thing for hours on end.
