July 1, 2015 at 10:42pm - Yes yes.. After you learn the katakana and the hiragana.. You can jump to vocabularies.. Its easier to learn vocabularies if you know how to read katakana and hiragana.July 1, 2015 at 10:48pm

July 1, 2015 at 11:00pm - nvm haha just found it ><July 1, 2015 at 11:05pm

- and do you have any advice like what method i should use to learn katakana and hiragana:)?July 1, 2015 at 11:12pm
- I think after you learn hiragana and katakana you should learn stuff like "I, we, you, my, and your" before doing the vocab lists, but it's still fine to just go right to vocab.July 2, 2015 at 4:34am
- First you should get used to language, and than you can move on to learning hiragana and katakana (kana) :)
I hope this helps http://www.textfugu.com/season-1/hard-way/#top read all of that it's pretty helpful and free! http://www.textfugu.com/season-1/the-japanese-alphabets/#top

This is very funny, so it can help you memorise hiragana http://japanese.gatech.edu/WebCTVista/JAPN1001/contents/Lesson02/hiragana/mnemonic-hiragana.html ....
And you can practice hiragana and katakana here: http://simplemedia.org/kana/?st=blk or here http://kana.icann.se/ and here http://realkana.com/katakana/.
So when you learn all kana you can practice by reading this stories http://life.ou.edu/stories/momotarou.html .... (✿◠‿◠)
Than learn some basic grammar and vocabulary (If you are confused with question what should you learn first watch this video it helps a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UleQzuqcaYg)
Then you can move on to kanji ᵔᴥᵔ
http://nirc.nanzan-u.ac.jp/en/files/2012/12/RK-1-6th-edition-sample.pdf
Also you can use sites such as japanesepod101.com or text fugu... and I also recomend you site which is called "memrise", there you can learn new kana, vocabulary, phrases and even grammar. Take care and I wish you luck! ≧◡≦
July 2, 2015 at 4:35am - *then
sorry if there are mistakes ●︿●
And you asked is this site if good for learning at the beginning, well I would recommend you some other sites that i told you about earlier, but this is also a very good place to return to any time, for example when you learn a lot of new kanji you can practice here so you don't forget it, also search trough youtube, there are some awesome lessons (I used this to learn hiragana https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zfBMDNkJuI&list=PLA7DB863D6946E1CD),
for example: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZnLr55kNwXPvkCNtKVzFqQ/videos
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxuZNRnlprC70l1bnI0n-XQ
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpeYBNrABTZ0hyhsV4kDOfQ
Also you can learn trough anki (computer program, it's a bit older but very useful, you can find information about it on text fugu) or trough mobile applications... (^▽^)

After all the most important is to find you own way of learning, everybody is different maybe something that was just right for me will be kind of bad for you, or everything that was good for me will be for you also, so just keep running and trying your best, if you really are interested in Japanese please don't give up, I believe in you. ≧◡≦July 2, 2015 at 4:55am - Also one person wrote to me this, when i first came here and asked the same question:
"....basically, the kanji part of this site is good for *review*, after you've already been exposed to them elsewhere, but i wouldn't suggest learning the kanji for the first time through this site, other sites are much better (e.g. kanjidamage with its memrise deck, or kanji.koohii.com). mainly because the order of the kanji on this site isn't organized very well, they don't present the kanji from simpler to more complex, they don't group similarly looking kanji by radical, they don't even group kanji by japanese grade level, they just seem to present them semi-randomly here, which isn't a good way to learn them imo. but also because this site doesn't even have all of the kanji you'd need, its selection is limited to about 1700. but as a way to review many of the kanji after you've learned them years ago and forgotten a third of them, this site is good."
Hope this helpsJuly 2, 2015 at 5:15am - thank you so much! ^^July 2, 2015 at 5:29am
- i think of starting on a japanese language learning program while also using the links above that you told me to check and this website, i am 15 and my goal is to go to japan as a foreign transfer students, starting 10th grade after the summer vacation, i got shitty grades but i need to get my grades better this year and next year so i can apply and hopefully get a spot, so basically i am gonna use the two upcoming years to study hard and get my grades up and learn to speak japanese (i dont expect to be fluent).July 2, 2015 at 5:33am
- @karilz0 then i wish you good luck ^^July 2, 2015 at 7:15pm
- You are welcome, well I started when I was 15 too and I have been into Japanese for a year and a half now, if you get yourself surrounded with the language you can learn it quickly and in few years you will be fluent. I hope you start living your dream soon ^_^ I wish I had a chance to go Japan!July 2, 2015 at 7:30pm
