Self-teaching is difficult, however I think it helps provides reflection upon oneself for not only to realise the limits he/she can achieve, but the areas of development needed. I am also trying to learn japanese on my own, I think grammar is the most difficult part about it- Yeah I know what you mean! Vocab isn't too bad for me, but actually forming a sentance is tough.. stick with it though and if possible find someone who you can practise on :D I think a good starting point is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6cb17mZ0dw It's a video which helps out a lot with the starting sentance structure ^_^ Good luck!
