  Sorry, I should have specified, I just started so its the Hiragana I'm doing. The form of each letter can't seem to stick in my head.

  Search for hiragana mnemonics. Find the ones with images that you can imagine best. Then write out the hiragana from memory.

  I did it couple of times: Try writing non-japanese words with hiragana/katakana on paper. Or the words you know good, like おはよう/だいすき.
