  hey there ^^ the first step would be to start memorising the hiragana and katakana characters first, then move on to vocab. you need these fundamentals before you can continue since you cant rely on romanji forever.

  my steps are: remembering 50 syllabaries,finding out and studying a Japanese text book which contains vocabulary, grammar and conversations.
  I also watch lots of Japanese drama to practice listening,you can notice the pronunciation and the usage of vocabularies and sentences.
  I listen to lots of Japanese pop music as well.

  ps 50 syllabaries are Hirigana and Katakana.

  Hmm, but for instance, tomorrow, you go like " Ok i'm gonna practice now!". What do you do then?

  listen, read, do exercises on vocab and kanji. me watching a lot of anime and jp dramas in addition to j-pop helps. mainly reading and making sure you know the hira and kana very well.

  Everyday I use Memrise(app), practice writing and adding to my vocabulary using the Kana, read Human Japanese (app) and watch at least one show.
  There are not enough hours in the day!
