How do you guys study Hiragana? For me it's hard because I keep getting distracted from actually learning the actual Japanese alphabet and how to pronounce and write it. For example, あ is a, however I just keep thinking about how it's pronounced rather than actually typing/writing あ..

I just play the match hiragana game on my phone. But after memorizing I start writing Japanese words using the hiragana alphabet. I also tried reading them in Japanese children manga. It's important to practice what you learn before forgetting them.;)
Hey, check out TOFUGU and use those mnemonics.. I mastered it in 2 days. I'm sure a few hours in and you're good to go !
