  Try memrise (app) for hiragana and katakana. I used it after practising Hiragana and Katakana for 8 hours one day. 3 days later, I remembereed everything. I read slowly, kind of like a first grader just starting to read, but I can read everything. The most important thing is to find good mnemonics, if you have that, it'll be stuck in your head forever.
  I'm convinced that Japanese is one of the easiest languages in the world, as sentence structure and the use of particles is so damn easy.
