I have a question, what is the difference between 花 and 華. I mean thry both mean flower and they both are pronounced as hana, so? can someone please explain me? thank you ;;

    well, the dictionaries go as far as saying that 華 is just an alternative form of 花. Looks like 花 is a physycal flower and 華 used more as "beautiful as flower/got flower's beauty", like a metaphor. And as the physical flower, too. As I would write in me memory: Use 華's はな reading to look like you're smart and educated person/who likes Japanese poetry/.

    (And I am not counting 華's other meanings as splendor, pride, gorgeous etc., which you would use to describe humans(metaphorical flower's beauty) and which 花 doesn't even have)
