Does anyone know any good ways to memorize the Hiragana and Katakana? I'm a beginner to learning a language and I need some tips.

I learn Hiragana using Heisig's Remembering the Kana Part 1. Katakana wasn't that hard to learn after learning the Hiragana.
There are a few free apps for android and iPhone that can help you learn them.
just keep practicing and follow how it should be written.., patience is all you need..just like learning other things.. after each writing try to compose words that starts with the letter you were practicing and in that way youll remember hiragana better... gamba!!

Use the app memrise. It really help me alot.
I had trouble until I got a book that listed words that use the kana i learned
- what is the name of the book ?
- memrise ? is that free ?
- well i got it off amazon its called learning japanese hiragana and katakana its like 5$ but its like あい=love あい=above,top おか＝hill
- you should know words like that from kana lesson 1 and re-reading them helps alot
- I completed level 1,,,now i want to go to level 2 and is locked...????? how to open or is this the end ? and must pay ?
Write them often and try this drag and drop game on this site. It worked for me... http://www.csus.edu/indiv/s/sheaa/projects/genki/hiragana-timer.html- that hiragana game is very good ,took me 12 minutes to fill her up ,is katakana also there ?
