Hmm, not really an expert on the subject, but I'd suggest learning both at the same time. Take some days to learn "grammar and sentence structure", and another days to learn and understand "basic kanji and vocabulary".

I say that because, when you only learn about "grammar and sentence structure", you might lack in Japanese vocabulary as to understand the sentence given and unable to create own sentence.
However, if you were to only memorize "basic kanji and vocabulary", then you might be confused when the Kanji used is being conjugated.

I suggest prioritizing vocab more since kanji and grammar depends on vocabulary. The more vaculary you know the more example sentences you can read and so on.

Well, first off, you should get a basic grasp of gana, because it's not really covered here. After that, I suggest getting as far as you can with kanji. The reason: If you have a decent grasp of kanji, you can read texts. It's a lot easier to pick up sentence structure from written text than with any other method. And practical text will always be better than "textbook text". Without kanji, however, you won't be able to make it past the first couple of words, in any real-world text.
