Quick question. How long did it took you guys to be able to read Japanese? Is JapaneseClass.jp is your primary source or do you have additional resources at hand?

Japaneseclass.jp is something I just discovered recently. If you take a look at my profile I have listed most of the websites (and some books) that I have used and am currently using.

I learned reading from NHK, I use the Easy website specifically. Once I knew kana I used this and it helps me out alot. http://www3.nhk.or.jp/news/easy/ It also has furigana, which helps me learn kanji. Hope this helps!- @Acidron np!

Apps like Memrise, KanjiSenpai, Kanji Study, and Alphbet Kanji for Androids were what I used to start learning :)

Personally I knew some Japanese (the listening part) from watching anime for many years. The for software I use Rosetta Stone for Japanese language and another application called Anki which was introduced to me here on this site. Aside from this site I also use:
http://www.memrise.com which is awesome imo and
https://www.renshuu.org which was also mentioned in this site's comments.
I was reading kana fluently in about a week, but I didn't have much vocabulary (I studied grammar before vocab and writing). So far I'm only in the fifth chapter of kanji,, and I struggle with it after weeks of study.
