On the kanji lessons, what does onyomi and kunyomi mean?

Onyami is pretty much when kanji is in combination with other kanji to make up a meaning or word...Kunyami is when one character conveys a certain meaning or word
The kunyomi is the Japanese reading that is usually used when a kanji is by itself. The onyomi is the reading that was carried over from the Chinese language and is usually used when two or more kanji combine to form a word.
