onyomi - chinese reading of a kanji. the reading is usually in katakana as far as i know
kunyomi - japanese reading of a kanji (these kanji usually have hiragana at the end of them)

Are we really doing this..? OK, then let me also reply to an already answered question.

The kunyomi is the Japanese reading that is usually used when a kanji is by itself. The onyomi is the reading that was carried over from the Chinese language and is usually used when two or more kanji combine to form a word.

Yo Felli, it's great that you're helpful to beginners but it would be better for everyone if you could tone down the arrogance towards them.

Did you forget how to read or do you have Asperger's? My post was sarcastic in that the question has been answered but mirandalad still posted an answer.

I see this a lot because people don't expand the commends to read what has already been said. And when was I arrogant towards beginners? That thing about tourists? Man, you really can't take a joke.

Hey everyone, I appreciate all the help, but let's just take things easy here and chill. You've all been super helpful. Thanks again.
