What would be better? Learning Kanji first or Vocabulary? I already know and have most of hirakana and katakana memorized but I'm sort of stuck here. I have trouble seeing kanji just because I'm so used to blurring it out and moving on.. xD I know... bad habit... but I can't seem to do the vocabulary any easier. Most of it is because I had left this site for so long.... Any ideas?

I think it's good to prioritize vocabulary first to keep on going.

I learn to write the new vocab in Kanji so I can get use to seeing the Kanji and being able to read it. It's been working for me so hopefully that helps you.

    Maybe I'll try that. ありがとございます!

I agree with aolivares07, by learning vocabulary w/ the kanji you're knocking out two birds with one stone. Plus, you don't have to remember onyomi and kunyomi that way!

i am learning the vocabulary first because i am more interested in learning how to understand and speak japanese than i am reading and writing it.

As you continue you will see how they all come together. Language is a long process. Just don't stop reading

thank you all for the posts! i'm finally in an area where I can start all of this back up again, and in the meantime I had been using an amazing language app, plus .... Otome games (Guilty as charged) hopefully this will all be a breeze and just as fun.
