I have been trying to learn all things to do with the Japanese language for a long time, I have tried many websites and books but have only managed to learn short sentences or individual words. I have been trying 2 or 3 years and it's starting to get me frustrated. Any tips?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=992fzEkMC2M This video helped me tremendously. Once you know the sentence structure you can apply it, speak, and read basic sentences. After you understand the sentence structure you just need to learn vocabulary (w/ kanji) and that's it! I do not use any books/guides to learning because I often find myself learning quicker if I just google what I need to know. Hope this helped!

You should find somewhere to apply it frequently, your all skills would be better and better unintentionally. Ex: make friend with a Japanese.

Move to Japan. Or at least do a study abroad or something.

Stick to one book and study it from cover to cover without breaks for other study materials. I've only seen good recommendations for Minna no nihongo(it was made in Japan) and I like it, too.
