To assemble the building
English Public
That French design firm Chartier-Corbasson has develop an innovative skyscraper, which can be built using the recycled spend of its occupants. The so-called Organic London Skyscraper is constructed from panels that are made from recycled cheap (e. g. plastic containers, …), which would almost all be sorted and refabricated in site. The skyscraper is named organic, because floors can be added on according to help demand for new real estate units.
One of the aims in the Organic London Skyscraper plan can be to show how the costs to construct a skyscraper could always be kept down. The residents themselves will be producing the building blocks to the structure and Chartier-Corbasson feels that, within a 12 months, enough this recyclable spend could be produced to do the building’s façade.
To further reduce costs, their plans require a system that would certainly collect and recycle the waste in the building itself, so how the actual construction panels would also be made within the skyscraper. Likewise, the more the building fills up, the quicker new apartments could be added from the increased volume of recyclable spend being produced.
To assemble the building, the designers propose a scaffolding structure to the skyscraper, an idea inspired through the bamboo scaffolding used around Asia. This scaffolding will be all one size plus arrive on-site prefabricated and ready for use. The scaffolding would also stay in place even after the building can be completed, and become part of it. The hollow scaffolding tubes could also contain small wind turbines for generating electricity.
The Organic London Skyscraper would have been a pyramid shaped building, and the different levels would always be accessible via an elevator. The designers also assume that the elevator would provide sufficient use of all the areas in the building and therefore eliminate the importance for a tower crane. As well as the apartment units the design of the building furthermore includes communal areas like gyms, landings, lobbies, places to eat, bars, conference rooms, coupled with an observation platform.
Since waste is often a prevalent problem in today’s planet, the idea for it to get reused as a building material is quite intriguing and definitely valued at a consideration.
