Semiconductor Growth

18 May 2023: The Japanese semiconductor industry is showing impressive growth, and the outlook for the Japanese stock market is positive. Chip-makers are benefiting from huge investments in the sector. Chip inspection equipment manufacturer Advantest has hit a record high. Exports are not as high, but still complement growth. The TOPIX rose 1% to a 33-year high and the Nikkei Stock Average rose 1.5% as the exchange rate remained strong against the yen.
