Self-love doesn’t mean 24/7 body positivity, it means when you feel “less-than,” for any reason, you give yourself the gift of whatever work leads you back to the self-love.**A note on privilege: Existing in a cis, thin, white, able body means that even without “trying” to look a certain way, I have privilege and I won’t pretend those small belly roles erase or even diminish it. My point is only that size doesn’t inoculate a person against self-criticism, comparison, self-loathing, fear.
