Can someone help plz. When your reading a paragraph, story, or sentences in Japanese how can you tell the words apart because there aren't any spaces??????

I'm not sure if there is any way beside learning Japanese. At first, I also couldn't tell words apart, it's just something I started to grasp once I had a decent knowledge of Japanese grammar / vocabulary.
