どのくらい日本語を勉強していますか?:)January 25, 2019 at 9:57pm - はじめまして、valentina さん。
This one is difficult for me to answer, I started a months ago, and I am intensively studying it after work for two weeks.
あなたも?January 25, 2019 at 10:24pm - I've been studying for about a year now. On and off, but mostly doing at least some kind of drill everydayJanuary 25, 2019 at 10:32pm
- あれはいいです。
I am currently focused on memorizing かたかな and expanding vocabulary with words on many different topics such as くだもの、からだ、どうぶつ etc. I finished with ひらがな and learned numbers and how to express time and age as well as months but weeks are next to be conquered.
Also I learned couple of かんじcharacters, the most basic one's though, but I will try to memorize them on in flight. So far, pronunciation is very easy since sounds are exact as in Serbian. The grammar looks scary, but so far I am managing to understand it, when I get stuck in understanding something I dig free resources online in order to better understand. I think I managed to learn a lot in the one month so I am nostalgic where one year of studying could lead me. :DJanuary 25, 2019 at 10:51pm - Are you self-taught or you hit the class during your learning process?January 25, 2019 at 10:53pm
- Yeah, I know what you mean, the pronunciation goes same for me. It's basically read the way it's written, so that's a plus for people like us, since our languages work the same way. But don't let that fool you. There's still a matter of pitch accent. And the way they pronounce words (pitch) is quite different from the way we would like to read it. At least that's what I noticed.
Yup, I self study. There aren't really a lot of available language classes in Slovenia(+ they tend to be really pricey), so I stick to online resources. The one we have here is called Genki. But the deal they offer didn't really convince me. Do you have any language classes in Serbia?January 26, 2019 at 10:46am - You are right, there are some catches in pronunciation, but I tend to do more listening over podcasts and audiobooks even if I don't understand 99% of what they say at this point. I am trying to get the feeling how the language is spoken by native people, but luckly I was exposed to a anime as a child so I was familiar with how the language sounds from the beginning.
At this moment, I am also studying by myself with free resources, same as in Slovenia, in Serbia, it is very hard to find group classes for the Japanese language, the one on one type of class is possible but it is very expensive for what they offer.
I'm following a couple of books from which one is called "Genki", also I bought the book from George Trombley called "Japanese From Zero #1", also, I follow videos from his channel and NHK World TV Show from I guess 90's which you can check here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a5kYYcnEKw&list=PLtPwdOLHqkuDHu6M-N_NsI4PK8uqM0cm0).
Can you give me any tip, resource or guide from your experience what topic to learn from where? That would be very helpful for me at this point.
Thanks in advance.
