When the current version of the site went went live five years ago, a number of feaures from the previous version of the site were either removed or hadn't been redesigned to work with the new site. The "Challenge" feature was one of the ones that Beeant had planned to redesign to work on the current version of the site.
How he Challenge feature worked is you clicked a "Challenge" button on someone's profile and it sent a Challenge Request message to that user. Then it popped up the Challenge quiz screen where you had to answer ten(?) random questions as quick as possible within 60 seconds. It recorded your time. Then, *if* the other user accepts the challenge, they would do the same thing. After both users had completed the Challenge quiz, it added the result of whether you won or lost to both user's profile pages.
I only tried the feaure a couple of times on the previous version of the site. Back then my internet connection was bad and the website ran far much slower before the remake. Because of this I didn't really enjoy the Challenge feature. It would be cool to have it back now that people have better internet speeds and now that the website runs much smoother.
I just noticed that the five year anniversary of the current remake of the site is only three weeks from now! I believe the date of the remake going live was 2014-04-15. ^^
