おはこんばんにちは!Hello I have a question. I've been getting 1 EXP the past week in Practice, is this a bug? or feature?
Most vocabulary here I've been through 30 times or more, maybe this is why?

- Welcome to my world. XD
You get the normal amount of EXP only for the first 29 times you correctly answer a question. On the 30th time you correctly answer that question and onwards, you only ever receive 1 EXP no matter what your combo is. This 29 times correct EXP cap applies not only to vocab questions, but also to kanji, hiragana, katakana, readings, and notes questions.
We actually used to get 0 EXP every time after 29 times correct, but after four years Beeant changed it to 1 EXP.
And before that, for the first three years of this site, there wasn't a correct answer limit EXP cap at all. The cap was introduced about a year before I created my account...February 2, 2022 at 9:13am - Thank you!February 3, 2022 at 1:49am
- Um @mog86uk the normal amount of EXP is 28 or less correct answers per vocab/kanji, and 1 EXP for 29 or more correct answers per vocab/kanji ... unless something changed that I was not aware of. :)February 3, 2022 at 3:51am
- @kekkou, It's strange because I was actually thinking it was 28 too when I started writing my comment.
However, I remembered I used to call it the "29 correct answers limit", which wouldn't make sense if the limit for normal EXP was 28 correct answers.
So, before I continued writing that comment, I went and looked back at some of my old maximum EXP maths posts I used to write. I saw in those I always put in my calculations that you get normal EXP for the first 29 correct answers. If it is actually 28, then all of those posts would be wrong which seems unlikely.
Therefore I changed it to 29 times correct here in my comment.
I'm not 100% sure now you've said that though, as it has been a long time since I've noticed whether it's 28 or 29.
I don't have any lv1-8 vocab or lv1-8 kanji questions less than 29 times correct. Hiragana, katakana, and notes quiz questions all give 1 EXP anyway, whether or not you've hit the 29 times correct limit (whereas the cap used to be noticeable for these in the past, back when all EXP capped questions gave 0 EXP). So now it's only in the 7 EXP readings quiz questions that I can see whether it's after 28 or after 29 times correct that you get capped to 1 EXP.
I'll have to look out for it next time I do any Readings quizzes. I am pretty certain it is 29 though. (The first 29 times correct give normal EXP; the 30th time correct and onwards gives 1 EXP.)February 4, 2022 at 8:25am - You are correct. I keep forgetting that when the quiz question says 28 correct 0 wrong at the top, that means the current attempt at the question is the 29th time, which if answered correctly will still be full EXP.February 4, 2022 at 9:42am
- I just used my test account which still has 28 or less correctly-answered questions.February 4, 2022 at 9:43am
- I meant 29 in my last reply. Lol
February 5, 2022 at 3:14am - @kekkou/washoku, Ah, thanks for testing and confirming that! I think when Beeant introduced the EXP cap everyone was calling it something like "30 max answers limit". So for a long time people were saying it as though you get full EXP for the first 30 times answered correctly.
I remember going out of my way to call it a 29 answers limit, because I found it confusing how Beeant and everyone kept saying 30. I was pretty certain from this that it couldn't have been 28, which would be two less than what everyone called it.
I've often wondered if Beeant actually intended it to give full EXP for the first 30 correct answers instead of 29.February 5, 2022 at 6:46am
