I am sorry but, for location is automatically detected from your IP address, if your IP address is not in the database, it will show as unknown.

Sorry for commenting on an old thread, but.. I'm in Japan right now, and I'm curious that my location is set "unknown" ^^
I think user should be able to set their own location... moreover it'll help us identify "potential friends", like, from the same country? I am Indonesian and I added Indonesian people here and there, but they didn't know that I am Indonesian from my location, so...
