- Moving there end of this month ^_^September 2, 2012 at 3:00am
- I was looking at saving up for a trip in two years...
Maybe I'll move when I'm done with university, but I still have 6-7 years to think about that.September 2, 2012 at 5:12am - or you can go to University in Japan ;) that's what I'm doingSeptember 2, 2012 at 5:24am
- I did think about that.I wouldn't have the time to pass the jlpt though... Unless I spent 2-3 years doing nothing here. Not to mention it would be very expensive.September 2, 2012 at 5:40am
- There are programs in English and Scholarships. I am far from fluent in Japanese. I am going to Osaka University from this fall.
Check out your eligability for MEXT Scholarships at the Japanese Embassy of your country for more information and you can probably find other scholarships as well as going for an exchange year to Japan from your UniversitySeptember 2, 2012 at 5:59am - Thanks, I'll look into that :>September 2, 2012 at 6:12am
- I cannot wait. (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))September 2, 2012 at 10:44am
- Went there this summer, and plan to move to Kansai next spring.September 2, 2012 at 1:06pm
- woooow, kurizu-san so lucky!!September 2, 2012 at 1:37pm
- Well this summer I had to go as a requirement for school. I am lucky though then when I move to Kansai it will be with two other people.September 2, 2012 at 1:50pm
- as in Kansai University or just the general Kansai region?September 2, 2012 at 9:03pm
- I'm Going on holiday there end December and plan to get married there end next year with my gf there : )September 2, 2012 at 10:34pm
- All I need is a job -_- muzukashii
September 2, 2012 at 10:34pm - ...Can someone bring me to Japan too?September 2, 2012 at 11:41pm
- Be careful. Okay?? v^v^v expect high expectationsSeptember 2, 2012 at 11:46pm
- @Taexsy This summer I went as a exchange to the International Buddhist University. Next summer I am moving there to just live there.
@Aniumixie Would you fit in a suitcase?September 3, 2012 at 12:09am - A big suitcase can work.September 3, 2012 at 12:15am
- Aniumixie how long do you sit per day studying Japanese? Your score is massive alwaysSeptember 3, 2012 at 1:48am
- Usually, around 2 hours. Maximum 3,5 hours so far which was on August 31st.September 3, 2012 at 1:53am
- When you have a large combo, getting a lot of score isn't that hard. I used to just answer while watching TV or anime, you don't really notice your score going up.September 3, 2012 at 4:41am
- what is bothering me is that vocabulary does not mix up. its not learning. they should do each series a major review questions so you do not just level up and forget. score not important.September 3, 2012 at 8:26am
- well when you use practice you can adjust the settings to pick vocabulary and Kanji from all previous levels into your practice. But perhaps that's not what you meantSeptember 3, 2012 at 8:31am
- I have to say spending an hour or two a day carved a lot of words into my memory...
A lot more were set in stone when I started reading for real and watching raw anime though.September 3, 2012 at 8:40am - i meant the vocabulary words are perfectly in order with the test. ahhaha. i like kanji tests better so challenging.September 3, 2012 at 9:48am
- Living in Japan already, woot.September 3, 2012 at 7:41pm
- @PeIrNiOkY In which city do you live? Tokyo? Kyoto? Osaka??September 3, 2012 at 7:50pm
- @Aniumixie: I live an hour north of Tokyo, in Saitama, in Koshigaya-shi. Heard of it?September 3, 2012 at 7:56pm
- @PeIrNiOkY Yeah, I've heard it. So, what's life like there? Is it hard? Difficult? Completely different?September 3, 2012 at 8:12pm
- @Aniumixie: Life is good, can't really complain other than the fact that summers are too humid and winters are too cold for me. The people I've met have been really friendly. My Japanese is terrible despite being here for a few years, so that's why I'm checking this site out.September 3, 2012 at 8:18pm
- @PeIrNiOkY I've heard that everything is expensive in Japan. Is that true?September 3, 2012 at 8:54pm
- If you want a good time you need quite a lot of money. I don't have plans to go to Japan in the near future. No money for it.September 3, 2012 at 9:49pm
- No need to have a lot of money to have fun in Japan, in my opinion you can go to a lot of bars that offer 飲み放題 and 食べ放題 at alright rates. Groceries tend to be expensive however eating out is cheaper at least compared to my country. If you plan on living in Japan your rent will be your biggest expense in my experience especially in the bigger cities, Tokyo rents are quite crazy then it's cheaper to live in the suburbs such as Saitama. I lived one year in 文京区 which is a great place to live however it tends to be expensive if you are not living in a University Dormitory as I did.September 3, 2012 at 11:02pm
- Bear in mind. If you live in US, Our dollar value is really bad. If you work in Japan, you'll realize the prices are okay. Tokyo was listed as number one most expensive city compared to others IN DOLLAR but there are no poor people in Japan... Our dollar value is damaged and everytime we rise it, they rise it too. For them it's normal to buy a 60 dollars DVD's. But there's books for beginners to live in Tokyo comfortably in their budget. *゚▽゚*September 3, 2012 at 11:33pm
- Feel free to correct me. That's what I read. ><September 3, 2012 at 11:34pm
- I make enough to have fun every now and then and save money. Sure, it's expensive if you start playing with exchange rates. The prices don't even faze me anymore.September 3, 2012 at 11:41pm
- And poor and homeless people do exist in Japan you can see them building their boxforts. Even the homeless people in Japan work though with what small tasks they can find, truly industrious IMOSeptember 4, 2012 at 12:24am
- PeIrNiOkY what is your occupation?September 4, 2012 at 12:29am
- Taexzy, then is it easy to find a job?September 4, 2012 at 2:14am
- Taexzy: English teacher :PSeptember 4, 2012 at 2:26am
- Sloan I'm not working I'm a studentSeptember 4, 2012 at 2:27am
- SloanAkira: depends on the job. If you have a specific skill set (Engineering, IT, etc) and your Japanese is at least at the N2 level, you might be able to fare pretty well. If you plan on teaching English, that's a little bit easier to get your foot in the door and hopefully branch out to other things.September 4, 2012 at 2:27am
- don't they get enough english teachers? hahaha it seems like the only reason everyone use to live in japan. I however, would like to connect with deaf people there as I know sign language, japanese would definitely help me to communicate with them if neededSeptember 4, 2012 at 9:08am
- I don't think there's a difference between english and japanese sign language.September 4, 2012 at 9:09am
- I saw two types they used via video blogs. but third is unofficial. they used american sign language and japanese sign language, third is international but hasnt been widely established. do you which they use often? I know english standard, american and very little jsl.September 4, 2012 at 9:15am
- That's interesting, and kind of disconcerting.September 4, 2012 at 9:15am
- not at all! it's very easy now compared before.September 4, 2012 at 9:19am
- I'm going to japan in a few weeks =DSeptember 4, 2012 at 11:40am
