- Well, could be wrong but you could have said ここは楽しいです! I don't think you need the で所 part since it could be implied by context.June 26, 2014 at 7:25am

I'm new here is a typically English phrase. Because it doesn't translate well directly to Japanese, I'd like to suggest some alternatives.
Some example wordings I can come up with are
ここでは初心者です。(I'm new here)
私は新しくここに来ました。(I've newly arrived here)
私は初めてここに来ました。(I've come here for the first time)
Your use of で before the comma looks fine to me.
Like dominataさん says, It's fun here ^^.

I would use ここでは to for instance express actions performed here.
ここでは楽しく勉強できます。
I definitely prefer making this distinction, but I don't feel like either one is strictly speaking grammatically impossible in your sentence.
