does anyone have a tip for remembering vocab and kanji?

Anki flashcard software can really boost your vocab. It can help boost your kanji too, but requires some sort of understanding of the kanji.
Kanji Mnemonics help if you like to learn visually instead of with notes.
If you use firefox or chrome, try characterizer.Google it.
That 'characterizer' thing is a really neat idea. I hadn't heard of it before. Works really well. I think I might even leave it set to on all the time. :)
