I am having trouble finding an Adjective equivalent to 'popular' in Japanese. All the translations that come up appear to be nouns. The closest adjective I can find is ゆうめい。 Any of the smart kids have anything that comes to mind?

有名 (ゆうめい) is famous but i guess 人気 (にんき) which does mean popular but is normally applied to a person or thing.

and 人気 and 有名 are な adjectives.

Oh, are they now? い adjectives are always shown with い, but even on their site the な is usually left out. I can understand why, but it gets a bit annoying.
    Anyway, thanks for that.

To say someone or something is popular is 人気がある.

If you have troubles figuring out wether a Word is a noun or a な-adjective, you should consider giving Rikai-chan a try. It's an add-on for Firefox (the Chrome equalent is called Rikai-kun, I Think) which allows you to hover over kanji and words to see their Reading, meaning and properties. If the Word is a な-adjective, I Think it says something to that effect.

Oh, and thanks for the new Word!
    人気... 人気... 人気...
