- jobi kanji???October 18, 2014 at 9:24am
- yup, jobi is the most used kanjis in daily lifes in japan. Around 2000 kanjis.October 18, 2014 at 11:25am
- With them you can almost read anything, since the other kanjis are less used.October 18, 2014 at 11:25am
- Think you might mean jouyou kanji? Jouyou kanji is the list of 2,136 common use kanji which are taught in school in Japan. I've never heard of "jobi". :)October 18, 2014 at 11:38am
- To answer your original question, if it is "Are all the kanji shown on this website Jouyou kanji only?", the answer is 'no'.
There are kanji encountered in the lessons which are not jouyou kanji, nor even jinmeiyou kanji (extended list of 2997 kanji used for names).
An example: the kanji 鱈 seen in vocabulary lessons in the word 出鱈目に "detarameni" (meaning "at random") is a hyougai kanji (not jouyou or jinmeiyou).October 18, 2014 at 12:03pm - This is not what i meant, i mean, if is the jouyou kanjis available on the website ^^, I dont mind extanded, as long as they have it.
October 18, 2014 at 12:20pm - I think I understood that. You are basically asking "Are all 2136 kanji in the jouyou list taught on this website?" right? The simple answer is 'no, not yet'. :)
Beeant has said that he would add level 7 lessons at some point, but currently this site probably teaches less than half the jouyou kanji.
I haven't done a check on how many kanji are specifically taught in the kanji lessons or how many jouyou kanji are currently taught, however I can say for certain that roughly 1200 different unique kanji are encountered during the lessons (within all of both the kanji and vocabulary lessons). ^^October 18, 2014 at 12:46pm
