- By any chance do you live in India? I think it just detect where the ip is coming from and doesn't actually care about your nationalityDecember 23, 2014 at 2:32am
- The website automatically determines your country from your IP address. That setting to choose your country only works if the website doesn't know your IP address or if the website doesn't know what country the IP address is from.
To determine your country, the website matches your IP address to a list of which IP address ranges belong to each country. The problem is, for the last few months at least, this list is incorrect or out-of-date.
Some of the Malaysia addresses are listed as India, some of the United Kingdom addresses are listed as Italy, some of the Italy address are listed as Ukraine, some of the Philippines addresses are listed as USA, etc.
You can check the country IP address database on the following website, which should detect that you are in Malaysia (even though JCJP still wrongly says you are in India). And you also view the full list of IP address ranges belonging to Malaysia where it says "Country IP listings" by setting it to "MY Malaysia" and "x.x.x.x - y.y.y.y format" and clicking "Submit". Here's the site to check it on:

In the mean time, you can probably get JCJP to change you back to Malaysia by disconnecting your internet and reconnecting again. Hopefully Beeant will be able to fix this soon though. :)December 23, 2014 at 5:16am - thanks for the informations :)
I don't live in India, and I never go there either.December 23, 2014 at 10:05pm - well, i tried to click the link given but, it couldn't connected :(December 23, 2014 at 10:08pm
- Strange. I just tried clicking the link and it works fine for me.
I notice JCJP still says you are in India? If you want to try to make it change back, you can get a new IP address by disconnecting your internet connection and then reconnecting. Only some of the address ranges in the database JCJP uses are listed as the wrong countries -- the vast majority of addresses are listed as their correct country, which is why most users don't notice this problem even exists.
Kind of annoying to have to do, and you might be unlucky and get another IP address which JCJP doesn't like, so you might have to repeat this a few times. Hopefully this problem is possible to get fixed at some point. ^^December 25, 2014 at 5:40am
