    Start here → http://japaneseclass.jp/lessons/kana/

These are the Japanese syllabaries (similar thing to an alphabet). Look through the chart and then do "Hiragana Practice". It should be fairly self-explanatory, but basically the question shows you a hiragana symbol and you need to answer by clicking the matching pronunciation. Don't worry about getting answers wrong. It will keep showing you the ones you get wrong to make sure you learn them. Just keep going until you begin to answer mostly everything correct.

Then do the same for Katakana Practice. Just try to learn a bit more each day. Maybe it will take a few days learning a little more each time, but you'll soon have learnt both syllabaries. ^^

Once you're fairly okay with hiragana and katakana, you'll be able to start the main lessons to learn vocabulary words and the many kanji (Chinese characters).

    No problem. ^^

Another tip: In the practice quizzes, next to the question there is a play icon which you can click to hear the pronunciation of the question. There is also a checkbox for "autoplay sound" to make it automatically play the audio pronunciation each time a new question loads.

This should make it much easier to figure out which answers to click. Maybe you could start with the sound turned on, and then later turn off the sound to see if you are still able to answer correctly without it. Can still click the play icon each time when you have completely no idea. :)
