Hi, I was wondering if "ロビー" (lobby) could be used both as a lobby, the room, and as the lobby, the firm that is trying to affect powers with campaigns and ties to the politics (for example).

This is an interesting question. I can't find a definite yes/no answer that question, but there is this term within in the dictionary:
ユダヤロビー "Jewish lobby" (as in relating to US politics and Jewish voters)
Here's a couple of terms I saw in the dictionary, which seem to be in use:
陳情団 (ちんじょうだん) "lobby group"
(literally: 陳情 "petition, appeal" + 団 "group, party, association")
圧力団体 (あつりょくだんたい) "pressure group"
(literally: 圧力 "pressure, stress, coercion" + 団体 "organisation, association, group")
Also saw the following term used on a page on the kotobank.jp website:
ロビー団体 (ロビーだんたい) "lobby group"

- As far as I know the word "ロビー" by itself is only for the lobby of a building(lounge). That said something like "ロビー活動" is "lobbying"(eg for a campaign).
@Mog
ユダヤロビー is probably a pronoun for the group(their group name).
The kotobank page didn't load for me but I imagine it's similar to ロビー活動.February 4, 2015 at 3:18pm - ユダヤ・ロビー is just listed as a common noun. But yeah, it is kind of like a proper name (not a 'pronoun' though).
Strange that the link didn't work for you; that link works when I click it. I did modify it a bit to make it simpler, so maybe that's the problem? Here's the full link:
https://kotobank.jp/word/%E3%83%AD%E3%83%93%E3%83%BC%E6%B4%BB%E5%8B%95-190620
The link is actually a page describing what ロビー活動 means. However, I'm not sure this term refers to a group but rather it refers to what the group's activity is (not a verb though).
活動 (かつどう) is listed as "action, activity" (common noun, vs)
ロビー活動 is listed as "lobbying" (common noun)
I did notice another way to refer to a lobby on that kotobank page:
ロビー活動を行う団体
ロビー活動 "lobbying"
+ を [direct object marker]
+ 行う (おこなう) "to perform, to do, to carry out" [transitive verb (being used attributively in this sentence)]
+ 団体 (だんたい) "organisation, association, group"February 4, 2015 at 4:02pm - Is a pronoun not a proper name? whoops...
that link worked fine :)
Right ロビー活動 is a noun.
ロビー活動を行う団体 a group that lobbys? Wow they like complicating stuff.
hahaha I think we've taken the question a little far.February 4, 2015 at 6:35pm - Thanks a lot you two ! It was the first time asking a question and you showed me a great community support ^^. I'll make sure to know them at least !February 5, 2015 at 8:00am
