I looked at "near" and thought that was the one which said "read". It has most of the same letters and two are even in the correct place... I didn't even hesitate to click it... What a lame way to end a combo, failing at reading English! :/

The other day I ended my 430ish combo because I mistook 楽器 for 食器. We all have brain farts from time to time.
I've also done that particular mistake before! What made it worse was the name of one of the bands in the playlist I was listening to was 和楽器 ! ^^;
I logged on tonight just after I pressed play to start a 50 minute Dragonforce album and I stopped answering when the album finished playing. Answered almost 750 questions, earning 50k EXP, and the only question I answered wrong was that one where I read the English incorrectly... :D
Solution? Double-check. :P There's no timer.
It doesn't really feel as though you have that option when listening to Dragonforce... Feels more like your life depends on you defeating the answer as fast as possible!- Slightly longer Dragonforce album today. Three mistakes this time but I don't think any of them were too embarrassing. One of the mistakes was mixing up 直る and 植える by answering with "plant (verb)" for the former...
